Grand Ambition Open Mic

The summer of 2024, saw Poetry Into Light step into a new arts venue at Swansea Grand Theatre to collaborate with the acclaimed arts collective Grand Ambition CIC, co-producing their first open mic poetry night. With Swansea poet’s from many groups and additional music from Steve Balsamo and Future Blood, the night was an eclectic fusion of words and song, showcasing community arts projects, new and established artists from across the city, with readings from guest poet Matthew M.C. Smith. We shared a women’s poetry set with service users from Swansea Women’s Aid. The event was kindly sponsored by Seventh Quarry Press and took donations for Swansea Women’s Aid and Grand Ambition CIC. Hosted by Guinevere Clark with charity support from The High Sheriff of West Glamorgan.
