Taliesin Arts Centre Creative Writing Workshops Series

In this popular 2022-2025 series of empowering workshops, Poetry Into Light offered sessions in a range of creative writing styles, exploring key features of poetry and short fiction forms. From sonnets to epistles and stream of consciousness to eco poetry and verses of love, titles to prose poems and flash fiction to first lines, the sessions were created with passion to inspire and build practical and transferable skills in creative writing.

Participants benefited from extra support to edit their work and submit to ongoing anthology projects and link into other local publishing and performance opportunities. They are helped to see their work as multi-levelled and part of a vibrant creative writing community in Swansea and beyond. Poetry Into Light is currently bidding for funding to allow more workshops to run monthly from The Taliesin Arts Centre since the Cross City Arts project ended. This project showed many benefits as people reported better confidence, wellbeing, skill base and networking through attending the creative writing workshops.
